It sounds like it might happen. I can only hope that W/Rove exacerbate this problem with their flim-flam about how all "serious-minded" individuals know that there is a dire crisis on hand... clearly a lot of Republicans would not agree.

Unless they can get more than a handful of Dems to go along they won't do it. They don't want to take the blame for destroying the most popular, successful government program of all time. After all, who will they have to blame if they can't blame Dems? --Res Ipsa Loquitor
